Hyundai i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition Gets Visual Tweaks as Hot Hatch

Hyundai is giving the i30 N a bit more visual pizzazz with a special version that includes a variety of cosmetic tweaks. Featuring either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, Drive-N Limited Editions have a plaque that indicates this is not an ordinary variant of the hot hatchback. A maximum of 800 units will be produced, 620 of which will be sold in Europe.

A new shade, Serenity White Pearl, complements either the Phantom Black Pearl or the newly launched Phantom Black Pearl. No matter which paint scheme the i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition chooses, it comes with forged wheels with a dark bronze matte finish to complement the black Hyundai badges. To set it apart from the regular i30 N, Hyundai uses retro side graphics that are also applied discreetly on the front and rear.

Finally, Hyundai Motor Europe’s test center at the Nürburgring in Germany is etched into a special badge on the front fenders. Since 2011, it has been the place where all performance cars are developed and tested. Furthermore, a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine delivers 276 horsepower and 392 Newton-meters of torque.

On the body-hugging front seats are more red accents with illuminated “N” logos evoking a certain German brand. Even the floor mats were modified to indicate it is the Drive-N Limited Edition by applying red piping and using specific lettering. As with the standard i30 N, it comes with a N Grin Shift button that boosts horsepower by 10 for 20 seconds. In addition to a glass roof, the car will come with a rear stiffening bar.

Approximately 75 of the i30 N Drive-N Limited Editions are headed to the UK, Hyundai says.
